I am like a magpie when I spot vintage pottery when I'm out and about fossicking for treasures. Is it any surprise that this fabulous pitcher caught my eye? It's in terrific condition, with only a few minor chips along the rim (see photo) where the glaze has come off over the years.
Featuring artwork of the Palazzo Publico in San Marino, and garlands of lemons on the back, the base reads "Rep-S-Marino" -- Republic of San Marino, the third smallest country in Europe, an independent enclave in Italy.
